Since 1978, the Natural Resources Day Outdoor Classroom for 5th graders is held annually in the spring. The students rotate between stations such as Woodland Plants & Flowers, Bird Identification, Tree Identification, Entomology, Watersheds, Soil Health, and Backyard Conservation.
Volunteering is a great opportunity for High School and College students to gain some experience in the agriculture and conservation field. You can increase valuable skills needed in the future and gain a "hands-on" opportunity. It also looks great on a resume.
Retired persons, homemakers and others are also welcome. We match a person’s interests and skills with the work and projects we have available, such as Computers, ArcGIS mapping, Conservation Planning, Field Design & Layout, Public Relations, Marketing, Photography, Educational Projects with the Community, and more! Contact us for more information.
In celebration of Arbor Day, 3rd grade students receive their own potted tree to take home.
